William Larick was born February 18, 1900, near Eagle Grove, the son of Franklin and Alice Watkins Larick. He received his education in a rural school near Eagle Grove. He was united in marriage to Clara Stockdale of Eagle Grove on March 23, 1921 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple farmed near Eagle Grove, until her death in 1965. Mr. Larick moved to the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove in 1982, where he lived for three years, before moving to the Clarion Care Center to make his home. He died there on Friday, March 24, 1989, at the age of 89 years, one month, and six days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Lee and Darwin and one infant granddaughter, Barbara Wagner. He is survived by his son, Kenneth, West Union; and two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marguerite) Donnelly, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Curtis (Joan) Wagner, Clarion; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. David Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, officiated. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.
