John W. Wilgus, 72, died at his home near Shawnee, Wyoming last Thursday morning, September 15, 1938. He was born at Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 7, 1886; the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Crouse) Wilgus. He was united in marriage to Margaret May Lister at Fort Dodge on August 8, 1893. Coming to Wyoming in 1912, Mr. Wilgus settled on a homestead near Shawnee. He had been operating a coal mine near his place since 1915. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Miller; five grandchildren, Mrs. Merlyn Crawford, Mrs. Gerald Spicer, James R. Miller, Clarence J. Miller and Laurence P. Miller, all of Lovell and Lander; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, three in Iowa and one in Colorado.
