February 24, 1928 --- March 9, 1985

Funeral services for Edward Orville Barz, 57, of Kanawha, who died March 9, were held Tuesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha. The Rev. Harlan Stenberg officiated and burial was in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Kanawha. Music was provided by Mr. Robert Smith, organist, and soloist Gene Guenther. Ushers were Doyce Pringnitz, Joe McDonald, Charles Hartwig and Milton Friedow. Honorary casket bearers were Edward's daughters: Melodie Hiscocks, Jilane Meyer, Robin Anderson, Amber Barz and Starla Hansen. Casket bearers were sons-in-law Randel Hiscocks, Dan Meyer, Micheal Hansen and Mark Anderson, and Don White and Ralph Goslar.

Edward Barz was born Feb. 24, 1928 in Klemme to Albert and Esther (Hartbeck) Barz. He graduated from Klemme High School in 1945 and served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 with service in Korea. Following his discharge, he returned to Klemme where he farmed. In 1954, he married Daisy Schaefer at Klemme. They moved to Kanawha in 1967 where he established his own insurance agency. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Visitation was at the Carter-Ewing Funeral Home, Kanawha.

Survivors include his wife Daisy; five daughters: Mrs. Randel (Melodie) Hiscocks, Britt; Mrs. Dan (Jilane) Meyer, Elizabeth, Ill.; Mrs. Michael (Starla) Hansen, Kanawha; Mrs. Mark (Robin) Anderson of Kanawha, and Amber at home; one grandchild, Crystal Hiscocks; one brother Milvern and his wife Mary Jane of Klemme. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ether Josten and a brother-in-law Edmund K. Josten.
