August 3, 1901--- December 2, 1991

Alice M. DeLong, 90, east Kansas City, died Dec. 2, 1991, at a hospital in Mount Vernon, Mo. She was born in Primghar, Iowa, and lived in Lamar, Mo., from 1951 until she moved to this area in 1966. Mrs. DeLong was a teacher in Spirit Lake and Dows in Iowa for three years and in Schell City and Miami in Missouri for 12 years. She was a member of the Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the PEO Sisterhood. Her husband, Ben DeLong, died in 1958. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Switzer, Kansas City, and Susan Douglas, Linz, Germany; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church; graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake, Iowa. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carson Independence Chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the church or the American Heart Association.
