RALPH C. KOCHER, 66, LOCAL MERCHANT DIED MONDAY NIGHT

Funeral services for Ralph C. Kocher, Sr., 66 who had operated the Kocher hatchery in Humboldt for the last 25 years, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kindhart funeral home with the Rev. Warren L. Green, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist church officiating. Mr. Kocher died at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge Monday evening after an illness of several months. Stanley Nelson was soloist during the services, accompanied by Mrs. R. E. Buettell. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Harvey Nelson, Mrs. Chris Hansen and Mrs. Philo Tabor. Burial was in the Union cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Maach, Cecil LeLand, R. G. Nelson, Frank Lowder, J. E. Starner and Clint Tinken. Military rites at the graveside were conducted by Adams Post No. 119 of the American Legion.

Ralph Kocher, the son of John and Ida Ripson Kocher, was born at Bristow, Iowa, March 26, 1888. He lived there until 1904, when he entered the Navy musician's school at Norfolk, Va., graduating
in 1907. He served in the Navy until he received his honorable discharge in 1920. He was married June 28, 1916 to Augusta Craig and their early married life was spent in the east. Mr. and Mrs. Kocher lived in Eagle Grove before coming to Humboldt 25 years ago. They had operated the Kocher hatchery here since that time.

Mr. Kocher is survived by his wife; one daughter, (Mary) Mrs. Wesley Fisher of Creston; four sons, Victor Kocher of Sioux City, Edwin Kocher of Lanesboro, Minn. Ralph Kocher, Jr. of Humboldt,
and Staff Sgt. John Kocher of McClelland Air Base at Sacramento, Calif; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Daydodge and Mrs. Lydia Atkinson, of Los Angelas, Calif, and two brothers, Lee Kocher of Greene, Iowa, and Alton of Tampa, Fla.
