January 15, 1879 ---- October 10, 1944

Theodore J. Schaeffer, 65, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joe Helgevold at Ayrshire, where he was being cared for the past several weeks. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Open Bible church. Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Schaeffer are his wife and three children. The children are Mrs. Joe Helgevold, Ayrshire, Mrs. Peter Sadler, Renwick, and Don in the U. S. Army. Don was enroute from his station in Penn. to Seattle when informed of his father's death and is expected here for the funeral. Two sisters and two brothers also survive, Grace, Mabel, and Verne of this city, and Harold of Fort Dodge.

Mr. Schaeffer was born in Tama, Iowa and moved with his parents to Eagle Grove when his father, the late Engr. Charles Schaeffer took a run on the North Western out of Eagle Grove. The senior Mr. Schaeffer lost his life 44 years ago when his engine struck a box car in the west yards which had been blown out on the main line during a wind storm.
