Arthur Clifford Anderson was born April 13, 1905 near Holmes, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Bertha Foss Anderson. He attended a rural school and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1924. Arthur was united in marriage to Myrtle Orsland of Thor, Iowa, on June 29, 1932, at the East Side Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. They made their home in Eagle Grove where he was employed by Iowa Public Service as the electric lineman supervisor. He retired from this work in 1970 after 45 years of service to the community.

Art and Myrtle continued to reside in Eagle Grove at their home until recently when they moved to the Rotary Ann Home. He became ill on Thursday and was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City where he died that evening at the age of 86 years, one month, and 11 days.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Myrtle, Eagle Grove; one daughter, Bernadine (Mrs. George) Baker, Mason City, Iowa; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Alma Anderson, Stella Bygness, and Mae Heggen. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Funeral services for Arthur C. Anderson, 86, were held on Saturday, May 25, 1991, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. The Rev. Lyle Peters officiated at the 2:30 service, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge.
