April 17, 1944 --- August 26, 2017

Geraldean "Jeri" Diane (Yoder) Abbas Myers, the daughter of Cedric and Gladys (Claude) Yoder, was born on April 17, 1944, in Webster City Iowa. She was raised and educated in Wright County, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1962. On October 12, 1963, Jeri married Louie Abbas at the United Methodist Church in Woolstock. The couple made their home in Woolstock where they raised their three children. Louie preceded her in death on January 25, 2001. On May 16, 2009, Jeri married Eldon Myers. They made their home in Eagle Grove and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends, affectionately known as "The Tremendous Twelve."

Lovingly known as "Grandma Purple," Jeri loved being around her family and grandchildren; they were the joy of her life and always brought a smile to her face. Jeri's smile would light up a room, and her laughter was contagious. No loved one ever escaped her presence without a hug.

Jeri enjoyed all things Elvis (music, movies) and also had a great love for cats. No stray cats ever went hungry in Grandma Purple's neighborhood.

Jeri was an active member of Grace Evangelical Free Church – helping with Cubbies and Awana – and was a member of the Woolstock American Legion Auxiliary.

Jeri entered eternity and into the arms of Jesus Christ her Savior on Saturday morning, August 26, 2017, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 73 years, surrounded by family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers. Jeri is survived by her husband, Eldon Myers of Eagle Grove; sons, Jeff Abbas and wife Sandi of Adel and Dave Abbas of Ames; daughter, Julie Miller and husband Chaad of Emmetsburg; five grandchildren: Lauren Abbas, Morgen Clayton and husband Zach, Kirsten Abbas, Jake Miller and Jordan Miller; brother, John Yoder and wife Nancy of Grimes; sisters, Lorraine Sebring of Hawkeye, Ardy Malaise and husband Cliff of Woolstock, Shirley Salmon and husband Dennis of New Hartford and Brenda Yoder of Polk City; step-children, Scott Myers of Webster City, Stuart Myers and wife Janet of Ankeny and Shelly Stone and husband Mike of Rockwell City and step-grandchildren, Garrett Bottorff, Reece Myers and Dalton Myers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor John Nett officiating. Burial in French Church Cemetery, Woolstock. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society.
