Fern Kremeier, 89, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls. She was born on Feb. 17, 1928, the daughter of John and Emma (Anders) Doerr in Creighton, Nebraska. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Creighton, and attended country school in rural Creighton. On February 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Kremeier at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview, Nebraska. The couple resided on a farm in rural Creighton and in 1956, moved to Borup where they farmed until 1964. They then relocated to Eagle Grove, Iowa, and in 1967 moved to Fergus Falls.

After her sons were grown, she started employment at F.W. Woolworth until her retirement. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church since 1967. Fern’s family was her joy. She loved attending the numerous sporting events and activities of her sons and grandchildren. Fern also enjoyed visiting her family in Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Liibbe; brothers, one in infancy, Harlan, Norris, Harold, and Dennis Doerr; sister-in-law, Helen Doerr; brother-in-law, Clarence Liibbe and a nephew, Dale Liibbe. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Kremeier; sons, Terry (Wendy) Kremeier of Milton, Georgia, Leon (Sherri) Kremeier of Crookston, Al (Lorraine) Kremeier of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Natalie (Cory) Todd of Winnetka, Illinois, Michael (Jessie) Kremeier of Dublin, Ohio, Trenton Kremeier of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Collin (Melissa) Kremeier of Fergus Falls, Isabelle and Helaina Kremeier of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren, Grace, Quinn, Leo, and Clara Todd of Winnetka, Illinois, Ansley, Evan, and Andrew Kremeier of Dublin, Jace and Camden Kremeier of Fergus Falls; brothers, Myron (Shirley) Doerr of Plainsview, Nebraska, Marvin (Lillian) Doerr of Petersburg, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Elaine Doerr of Plainview, Nebraska, and Sharon Doerr of Longview, Washington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Service will be Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Officiating will be Rev. Craig Palach. Interment will be at Trinity – Faith Cemetery in Fergus Falls.
