November 10, 1878 ---- July 27, 1964

Alva Nelson Slaikeu was born to Nelson and Carolyn Slaikeu on a farm in the Evergreen community on Nov. 10, 1878. He grew to young manhood there and after moving to other farms, he returned to the same home place in 1928. In 1902 Alva was united in marriage to Lydia Nicoll. To this union was born three children, Donald D., Paul Forest, and Eleanor Irene. Lydia Slaikeu passed away in 1930. In 1935 Alva married Margaret Smith. To this union was born Richard Smith Slaikeu. Then in 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Slaikeu moved to an acreage on the edge of Eagle Grove where the deceased lived until the time of his death on July 27, 1964.

Alva was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Goldfield for some time before transferring this relationship to the Methodist church of Eagle Grove. Left to mourn their loss are his wife Margaret; daughter Eleanor, Mrs. Albert Schradle of Goldfield; sons Donald of Goldfield and Richard of Eagle Grove; six grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
