ALETTE (BERGETTA) ARNE
Mrs. Alette Ame was born on May 4, 1881 in Norway and was the daughter of Peter and Helena Strommen and was named Johanna Alette Bergetta. She grew up and received her education in Norway. On March 9, 1901, she was united in marriage with Karl P. Arne in Bergen, Norway. Shortly after their marriage the couple came to America and settled at Bode, Iowa, where they lived a short time and then lived at Rolfe and in 1906, the family moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Arne was employed for many years by the Chicago, Northwestern Railroad and he died in 1936. Mrs. Arne continued to live in the family home until February of 1977, when she became a
resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. She was a long-time member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and a circle of the Lutheran Church Women. She was a wonderful wife and mother and was a very loving person and all children were very special to her.

Mrs. Arne died on Friday morning, August 10, 1984, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 103 years, three months and six days. She is survived by two daughters, Ramona, Mrs. Harold Wise of Minneapolis, Minn.; Margaret, Mrs. Max Axelson of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Gus Arne and Elmo Arne, both of Renwick; 13 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and nine great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sons, Carl A. Arne, Pete Arne and three infant sons; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alette Arne, 103, of Eagle Grove, were held on Monday, August 10, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Paul Schaedig, church pastor, officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was on Sunday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
