Edward John Feeley was born November 30, 1923 at Eldora, the son of Thomas and Mabel Kadolph Feeley. He moved to Eagle Grove as a small child, and was educated in Eagle Grove schools. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps, and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was discharged in December, 1945, with rank of Staff Sgt. Following the war, he returned to Eagle Grove and became employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a conductor. He was employed by the railroad for 39 years, retiring on his birthday, November 30, 1984. He was married to Mary Urich of Webster City at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City on April 22, 1946. After their marriage, they established their home in Eagle Grove. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove; past president, secretary and local chairman of the IUTU; and a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 642 in Eagle Grove.

Edward died November 28, after a long illness with cancer, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Leo. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Theresa Brauman, Palatka, Fla.; grandsons, Lance, Scott, and Chad Brauman, Palatka, Fla; brothers, Elmer, Marshalltown; the Rev. John Feeley, New Guinea; Joe, Badger; Thomas, Boone; Guy, Fort Dodge; and a sister-in-law, Glory Feeley, Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Wayne Droessler officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
