Services Friday for Lucille Abbott
Funeral services for Mildred Lucille Abbott, 79, Eagle Grove, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Lucille died Monday, Aug. 3.

MILDRED LUCILLE ABBOTT
Mildred Lucille Derscheid was born Nov. 1, 1907, and raised in Eagle Grove Township, Wright County, Iowa near the town of Eagle Grove. She was the sixth child of George Frederich and Lois Emerick Derscheid. Her early schooling was in attending rural No. 7 school and graduating from Eagle Grove High School with the class of 1925. She taught rural school five years and in 1926 she married James Franklin Abbott. To this marriage were born two sons: Phillip George, Eagle Grove, and James Franklin, Forest City, Iowa. She was a farm wife from 1930 to 1943. The family then moved to Eagle Grove. She served in the Methodist Church, was a Cub Scout and Girls 4-H leader, was worthy matron of Eagle Grove Chapter 114 of Order of Eastern Star, worthy high priestess of White Shrine of Jerusalem and president of Chapter E J, P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Lucille died Monday, August 3, 1987 at the age of 79 years, eight months and three days. She is survived by her sons, Phillip and James and their families. Services for Mildred Lucille Abbott, 79, Eagle Grove, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 7, 1987 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
