Stanley Alonzo “Stan” Brandmeyer, 74, of Versailles, Mo., died Sunday, July 16, 2017, after battling a sudden illness. Born July 23, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Alonzo and Ruth Nau Brandmeyer. He married Vivian Blewett. Mr. Brandmeyer was a teacher and coach in the Boone Schools for 34 years. He was a 1960 graduate of Belmond High School and attended what is now the University of Northern Iowa. He also worked for 30-plus years for Farmer’s Mutual Hail, mostly during summers. In 2006, he and his wife officially retired and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in Versailles.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Brandmeyer of Rolling Hills, Calif., and Brent Brandmeyer of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Randall Brandmeyer of California and Blair Brandmeyer of Danville.

The service for Mr. Brandmeyer will be 11 a.m. Friday at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the church. A private family burial will be at a later date in Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone. A memorial has been established for an annual scholarship for a Boone High School athlete attending college.
