Funeral services for Clyde L. Smith, 47, of rural Thor, were held at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield Saturday with burial in Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. He died Wednesday night at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., of cancer. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Among the survivors are his wife, Sharon; daughters, Mrs. Mike (Debra) Dolan, Eagle Grove; Denise Smith, a student at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines; Lisa Smith, at home; his mother, Mrs. Verona Smith, Goldfield, and sister, Mrs. Ron (Evelyn) Brookshire, Fort Worth, Texas.

Mr. Smith was born Feb. 11, 1935, to Fred and Verona Thompson Smith in the Thor area, and graduated from Goldfield High School. He married Sharon Hansen June 8, 1957, at Goldfield. They had lived on the same farm near Thor since their marriage.
