Norma Jean Reetz, 82, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Kahl officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Norma was born in Hardy, IA on May 25, 1935 to Carl and Sarah (Thompson) Mathiason. She graduated from Bode High School in 1953. Norma was united in marriage to Charles Robert Reetz on June 7, 1953 and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She owned her own cleaning business and also worked for Trinity Regional Medical Center for 18 years. Norma loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends and being around people. She enjoyed bird watching, roller skating, ice skating, going to garage sales, fishing, riding motorcycles and collecting snowmen.
Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years Charles “Bob” Reetz; daughter Virginia (Ron) Feeley, Shawna (Omar) and Isla Jordan and Katelyn Feeley (Greg) Lucas and Nick Davis; son Chuck (Leslie) Reetz and Jodi (David) Emily and Lauren Scott and Matt (Ashlee) Reetz; daughter Tina Nordstrom and Ashley, Tommy, Destine, Bentley, McKenna and Hunter Jondel; son Dr. Mark (Darcey) Reetz and Amanda, Alex and Addison Reetz; her sister Marjorie and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Sarah; her siblings Sarah, Dorothy, infant brother Lawrence, Hanna, Charlotte, Lawrence, Glenn, Pernella, Alice, George and Merle. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
