Betty LaVonne (Hilpipre) Huffaker, the daughter of Edmund and Margaret (Bohy) Hilpipre, was born January 19, 1931, in Woolstock, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1948. Betty married Dale Parker on November 14, 1947, in Wisconsin and after nearly 24 years together they divorced. She married Dean Huffaker on September 17, 1964, at Omaha, Nebraska and they were together for 24 years before they divorced. Betty prepared the Congregate Meals for years. She also owned, operated, as well as worked at many different bars throughout her life.

Betty passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Parker; daughter, Debbi Subject; sons-in-law, Timothy Westre and Vernon Subject and grandson, Timmy Westre. Survivors include her children: Kathy Ward (William) of Baker City, OR, Becky Arnold (Perry) of Webster City, Eddi Parker (Monica) of Goldfield, Robyn Schaumburg (Ronald) of Eagle Grove, Dale Parker (Sheryl) of Des Moines and Dean Huffaker (Christine) of Goldfield; 21 grandchildren: Sandra VanBogart (Damian), Kristy Peck, Laura Bernard (Pierre), Susan Arnold, Perry Arnold Jr, Paul Arnold (Stephanie), Tami Werts (Shane), Rusti Subject (Sara), Tifani Stevens (Christopher), Robbi Subject, Jonathon Parker (McKenzie), Jessica Parker, Keishia Schaumburg, Jeremy DeWeese (Stephanie), Danielle Parker, Bailey Stein (Justin), Damian Huffaker, Madison Huffaker, Alec Huffaker, Zachary Bell and Destiny Nason; 25 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Visitation will be Sunday, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be the Rose Hill Cemetery with fellowship to follow at The Depot event center. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
