Robert Neal Bolton was born January 26, 1923, to David and Anna Pack Bolton at Des Moines, Iowa. He
attended school in Adair County and graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1941 and then joined the
Navy. On June 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Krumm at Boone. They made their
home in Boone until Fareway Stores transferred him to Eagle Grove in 1959 as their meat department manager. He was a meat cutter until he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove where he was a trustee and church treasurer for many years.

Robert Neal Bolton died Sunday, August 24, 1997, at his home in Eagle Grove at the age of 74. Survivors include two daughters, Julianne Sturtz and her husband Steve of Anita, and Lynette Christensen and husband, Randy, of Eagle Grove; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 1 brother, Jim Bolton and wife, Betty, of Green Bay, Wis.; 3 sisters, Francis Bolton of Glenwood, Janet Bolton of Greenfield, and Virginia Smith and husband, Ken, of Climax Springs, Mo.; nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Mary Ann Hansen of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billie Bolton.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 26, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Neil E. Hayen officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
