FRED BEISNER, AGE 91, DIES
Services for Long Time Resident at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; RETIRED FARMER

Fred Beisner, 91, a resident of Webster City since 1894, died this morning at 3 o’clock at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Griffith Jacobson, at Williams, where he had lived since Easter. He had been bedfast the past two weeks but had been in failing health for some time. Death was caused by ailments incident to old age.

Funeral Saturday
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the pastor, the Rev. W. C. Fleischer, officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in the Blairsburg cemetery, with Foster’s in charge. Mr. Beisner leaves four children, H.C., of Williams; John C., of Fifty Lakes, Minn.; Mrs. Charles Birkholz, of Hebron, Neb., and Mrs. Caroline Lutzke, of Chugwater, Wyo. There are nineteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Fred Beisner was born Nov. 15, 1846, in Germany, his parents being Henry and Caroline Beisner. He came to the United States in 1866 and settled in Elgin, Ill., where he was a shoemaker for four years. In 1870 he moved to Vernon township in Wright county, Iowa, and farmed until 1882, when he moved to Williams. At that place he was in the stock, grain and lumber business.

Retired in 1894
In 1885 he returned to the old homestead in Vernon township where he lived until 1894 when he retired from active work and moved to Webster City. He was married Sept. 10, 1868, to Miss Dora Engelking in Elgin, Ill. She preceded her husband in death Jan. 1, 1932, and is buried in the Blairsburg cemetery. Mr. Beisner was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran church and in his younger days was active in various community affairs and civic projects.
