July 21, 1930 ---- March 31, 2017

James "Jim" Robert Sadler, 86 of Lapeer, [Michigan] passed away March 31, 2017, in the comforts of his home with his family at his side. He was born in Renwick, Iowa on July 21, 1930, to Ed and Marie Sadler. He loyally served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. James was a member of the American Legion Post #16 Lapeer, VFW Post 4139, and the 40-8 Voiture 1536. Jim took great pride in his 42 years of hard work as a lineman for Detroit Edison. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In his spare time, he loved golfing and bowling.

Jim is survived by his sons Mike (Pam) Sadler, Robert (Liese) Sadler, Richard Sadler, William Sadler; daughter Kayla Sue; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; brothers Archie, Charles, Duane, David; sister Bonnie. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Leila Sadler; infant son Todd Andrew Sadler; foster daughter Clara "Cricket" Vibbert; brothers Ed and Russell; sisters Barbara and Mary.

Friends may visit Sunday, 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer, 90 Millville Rd. Lapeer, MI 48446. Rev. John Kaiser officiating, followed by military honors for Mr. Sadler, under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard. Memorials to the Sadler family will be donated to a charity that is yet to be determined and are greatly appreciated.
