May 2, 1945 ---- April 23, 2017

Roberta May Angell age 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was peacefully called to heaven on Sunday April 23, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Elkhart, IA on Friday April 28, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Elkhart, IA on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Dows, IA.

Roberta was born May 2, 1945 to Robert and Lucille Ellis in Clarion, Iowa. She attended private catholic school and then went on to graduate from Eagle Grove High School. On January 14, 1966 Roberta was united in marriage with Kenneth Angell in Sioux Falls, SD. Together they enjoyed 51 blissful years of marriage.

She was very passionate about helping others, which she did with her work at Iowa State University, as a Den Mother with the cub scouts, and helping with little league which she was a scorekeeper. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and baking, traveling, but most of all she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are husband Kenneth Angell; her 5 children Brenda Angell (Rick Courter), Johnny (Corky) Angell, Chad Angell (Laurie White), Margie (Rodney) Sutton, and Charles Angell. 15 loving grandchildren, Her two sisters, Shirley Deepsong and Mary Harris. Along with several other family members and dear friends. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lucille Ellis, stepfather Clifford, brother Ronnie Nelson, grandmother Helen Thul, and grandparents Clesson and Ethel Ellis.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made in Roberta’s memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church and Unity Point Foundation. St. Mary's Catholic Church, 460 NW Washington Ave., Elkhart, IA 50073; Unity Point Foundation, 1415 Woodland Ave. Suite E200, Des Moines, IA 50309. Adams Funeral Home in Ames, is assisting the family with arrangements.
