Obituary of Mrs. Richard France, Jr.

The whole community was irrepressibly shocked on Monday when word was given out that Mrs. R. A. France was dying. It seemed that the awful news could not be true, but on Monday evening, Feb. 7th, at 10:30, the end came.

Mildred May Thomas was born in Eagle Grove, Aug. 20, 1888, and spent most of her life here. She was a person of rare attainments, beautiful alike in face and character, and had hosts of friends. On Thanksgiving day, Nov. 25, 1907, she was married to Richard A. France. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church Jan. 14, 1906, and was a faithful member. The funeral services were held at the church Thursday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, C. E. Chapler, and she was laid at rest in Rose Hill cemetery. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to the bereaved husband and baby boy and to the sorrowing relatives and friends.
