LaVonne Faye Porter, 89, of Imperial [California] passed away in her sleep on September 18, 2016. She was born in Iowa and married Emil Porter August 12, 1947. The family moved to Calexico in 1958, and she worked for the Calexico Hospital. After leaving Calexico she worked for El Centro Regional Medical Center in the radiology department doing mammograms. She retired from the Hospital in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Kyle MacDonald. LaVonne is survived by her husband Emil, son Keith (Kris Kussman) Porter, daughters Linda (Mike) Arndt, Nancy Porter, brothers and sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered at the Hospital as the first one to work every day. She was caring, giving and loving to all that knew her, and will be missed. On September 30, 2016 at 8 a.m., graveside services will be conducted by Hems Brother Mortuary at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to El Centro Regional Medical Center Foundation (ECRMC Foundation), P.O. Box 4245, El Centro, CA 92244.
