Mary Joan Clabaugh, the daughter of Elmer and Norma (Hassebrock) Van Langen, was born July 11, 1935, Kamrar, Iowa. She was a 1952 graduate of Kamrar High School. Mary attended AIB in Des Moines. On July 27, 1958, Mary was united in marriage to Lee Clabaugh at the First Presbyterian Church in Kamrar. Together, Mary and Lee raised their family in the Hamilton and Wright County area. Mary enjoyed a lifelong career in the banking industry.

Mary was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed watching football and basketball. Mary also had a passion for sewing, cooking and gardening. Mary always looked forward to annual camping trips to the Iowa State Fair and winters in La Feria, Texas with Lee. She treasured family time spent with her children and grandchildren. Mary was a member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a past church council and altar guild member.

Mary passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in La Feria, Texas, at the age of 81 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Norma Van Langen. Left to cherish her memory: husband, Lee of Eagle Grove; daughters and their spouses, Belinda and Kent Davidson of Emmetsburg, Beth and Kevin Noe of West Branch and Becky and Todd Ramsey of Eagle Grove; seven grandchildren, Amy Martini (Patrick), Holly Sidles (Joshua), Shelby Noe, Travis Noe, Cody Ramsey, Kayla McNew (Aaron) and Andrew Ramsey; three great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kennedy Martini and Macoy Sidles; sisters, Janet Ziesman (Don) of Alden and Cheryl Huebner (Greg) of Alden and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Visitation is Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
