Services held Monday for former resident

Funeral services were held on Monday morning at Ellsworth, Kansas for Mrs. Don Meacham, the former Mrs. A. B. (Lorene) Parsons, who died on Saturday following a severe heart attack. Mrs. Meacham, a former resident of Eagle Grove, had resided in Lorraine, Kansas the past several years. She was the former Lorene Wright born Dec. 21, 1900. July 30, 1923 she was married in Ames to Arthur Brewster Parsons, Eagle Grove's first wrestling coach who preceded her in death in August 11, 1972. She had resided in Eagle Grove until about three years ago when she married Meacham and moved to Lorraine, Kans., but kept her home here. In fact, she had been in Eagle Grove, returning to her Kansas home about two weeks ago. She is survived by her husband, Don Meacham, and three children: Walter Parsons of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Charles Burkett of Paw Paw, Mich.; and Mrs. Kenneth Light of Athens, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service for Mrs. Meacham will be held at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove in December. There will also be a memorial service in Grinnell, Ia. and her ashes will be buried there by the side of her first husband, Arthur, in Hazelwood cemetery.
