November 14, 1871 --- September 12, 1893

On September 12 Bro. H. M. Ford, of Eagle Grove Division No. 164, was bereaved by the loss of his son Fred, who was fatally injured while at work as brakeman at Story City, Iowa. He had both legs cut off about 11 o'clock a. m. and died at 6:10 a. m. on that date. He had only commenced work in the capacity of a brakeman, this being his third or fourth trip. His sudden death was a severe shock to his parents. At a regular meeting held September 24 appropriate resolutions were passed expressing the sympathy of the Division with Bro. Ford and family in their deep bereavement.
