SUMNER, IA - Ralph Jamison "Jim" Lande, 77, of Sumner, died Friday, April 24. He was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Iowa City, son of Ralph C. and Gail Jamison Lande. He married Beverly Lerdal in 1952. [January 1, 1952 in Belmond, Wright county, Iowa] He graduated from Slater High School, Slater. Mr. Lande owned the Chevrolet Olds Dealership, then went into trucking and later went into Real Estate. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner Futures, Sumner Planning and Zoning and Sumner Fire Department and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge.
Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Rebecca (Rodney) Arthur of Loveland, Colo., and Pamela (Steven) Rogers and Cynthia (Thomas) Kinn, both of Sumner; a son, Lloyd Lande of Sumner; a sister, Patricia (Leon) Heggen of Santa Fe, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, John; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Rogers.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Clock Tower Building, 118 W. First St., Sumner. Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of arrangements.
