Catherine Ann O’Connor was born August 21, 1926 in Webster City, Iowa, a daughter of William C. and Bertille (Broderick) O’Connor. She was united in marriage to Thomas Glancy, October 22, 1949 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He preceded her in death August 25, 1981. Kay was a 1944 graduate of I.C.A. and went on to graduate from the former Marycrest College in 1949. She was a teacher in the Davenport Diocese for many years, serving students at St. Mary’s, St. Joe’s and Holy Trinity Schools prior to retiring for health reasons. As the “Music Minister” for the Sunday Catholic Mass in the Activity Room at Petersen Commons, her singing ability, laughter, and sense of humor was greatly enjoyed by all. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a favorite charity of your choice.

Those left to honor her memory include her children and their spouses; two daughters, Teresa and John Clark, Phoenix, AZ, and Sharon Logue, of Georgia; her son, Kevin and Linda Glancy, Davenport; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Sr. Mary O’Connor, B.V.M., Dubuque, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ed O’Connor, Ames, IA and Jim and Eleanor O’Connor, Davenport; numerous loving nieces, nephews; and her sisters at the Humility of Mary where she was an Associate for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister-in-law. May they rest in peace.
