Duane L. Fanselow, 71, Dows, died January 25, 2017 at his home. Services were held January 30 at First Lutheran Church in Dows. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran in Dows or the Rowan Public Library.

Duane Lee was born March 20, 1945 in Hampton to Robert and Virginia (Johnson) Fanselow. He grew up on a farm near Rowan and graduated from Dows High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1966 where he was stationed in Germany.

Duane married Rella Rae Williams on September 18, 1966 in Dows. He farmed near Dows and later south of Rowan on the family farm. He was also employed by Monsanto/Asgrow Seed Company in Clarion. Duane served on the church council at First Lutheran and the board of Farmers Cooperative. He was a Wright County Township Trustee at the time of his death. Duane was an avid collector of Massey-Harris tractors, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Duane is survived by wife Rella; daughters Sue Ellen (Mark) Pegg of Ceresco, NE, Stephanie Fanselow of Lakewood, CO, Jolee (Mark) Fitz of Nevada, and Julie (Mike) Grove of Ellsworth; grandchildren Savannah and Madison Fitz, and Quinton and Landon Grove; brother Aren Fanselow of Dows; and sisters Jeanie (Maynard) Agena of Dows, and Connie Fanselow of Des Moines.
