Funeral services for Rex J. McCormick, 43, were held from the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove on Thursday, July 31, 1966 at 10 a.m. Dr. Lloyd W. Meyer officiated and burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home in Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Rex died Monday, July 28, 1966 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born June 25, 1943 in Clarion and was the son of Arthur and Vera Rolfe McCormick. He was reared and educated in Clarion and graduated from the Clarion High School. Since his graduation he had farmed southeast of Clarion. He was united in marriage to Karen Kiefer on August 25, 1964. Survivors Include his wife, Karen, his mother, Vera of Clear Lake, stepchildren Ronald and Misty Kiefer, three grandchildren and one sister, Eva Kinkade of Sarasota, Fla. His father and one sister, Lois, preceded him in death.
