Hope Pyle, age 87, of Bentonville, Ark., died Nov. 11, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Rogers, Ark. She was born at Chalk Level, Mo., on June 5, 1923, to the late Paul and Mary (Underwood) Magee. She lived in Cedar Rapids most of her life. She graduated from Hudson High School in Hudson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed hosting at her church, Cedar Valley Bible Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a Christian woman and enjoyed taking care of others.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Pyle of Cedar Rapids; children, Charles R. Pyle, Jr. and wife Virginia of Michigan Center, Mich., and Jo Ellyn Bach and husband Robert of Bentonville; siblings, Belle Boyer of Jesup, Dan Magee of San Francisco and Bess Wellner and Dawn Fisher, both of Davenport; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Cedar Valley Bible Church, 3636 Cottage Grove Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, officiated by Tom Fogle. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to the Hope and Charles Pyle Scholarship Fund at Cedar Valley Bible Church.
