Rev. Richard D. ROBINSON

ROBINSON, ARNDORFER, CAMPBELL

Posted By: Sarah Thorson Little (email)
Date: 12/10/2016 at 21:52:11

Rev. Richard D. Robinson has gone to heaven at the age of 81 following a long debilitative illness. He was raised in Clarion, Iowa and met his wife, Jeanette, at summer church camp. They were married sixty years this past June. In addition to Jeanette, Richard is survived by three sons; Tim (Ruth), Greg (Kimberly), and James (Keli). Also surviving of five siblings are his brother, Bill (Fran) and sister, Janet (John Arndorfer). Grandchildren are Sarah (Clint Campbell), Micaiah, Garrett (Betsy), Gabriel, Hayden (Julia), Zachary (Rachelle), and Bailey; great-grandchildren are Jonas, Alder, and Afton Campbell.

The first of his family to attend college, Richard graduated from Nebraska Christian College and completed post-graduate work at Lincoln Christian College. He began his pastoral ministry with Jeanette by his side at Tampico, Illinois, after which he ministered to Greenview Christian Church in Greenview, Illinois, and concluded his ministry at Woodview Christian Church in Wyoming, Michigan, where he served for 34 years. Across 50 years of ministry, Richard and Jeanette were a team, integrating music, worship, and outreach events at each congregation. Richard was truly a pastoral minister, interested in the whole person as well as their eternal condition, and many congregants over the years followed his example into full-time christian service. Even as the neuromuscular disease slowly diminished his physical capabilities, Richard saw both the disease and his response as a unique opportunity to minister to the many caregivers who provided much appreciated assistance over the past years. Richard adored his wife, admired his children, and was happiest when surrounded by family. Intellectually curious, he always had some relevant observation about the community and nation. His good humor, patience, and perseverance will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Richard will be held on Saturday [December 10, 2016] at 11:00 am at Woodview Christian Church, 3785 Woodview SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Jon Stradtner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the church on Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodview Christian Church, ALS Association-Michigan Chapter, or Faith Hospice.
