PHOENIX, Ariz. — Charlotte M. Erickson, age 85, of Phoenix, AZ, and formerly of Belmond and Mason City, IA, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at the Palos Verde Senior Living in Phoenix, AZ. Funeral service for Charlotte M. Erickson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Belmond United Methodist Church in Belmond. Pastor Leila Blackburn will officiate. Burial will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation for Charlotte M. Erickson will be one hour prior to funeral service at the church on Monday.

Charlotte M. was born on May 27, 1931, to Charles and Geneva (Sanders) McPhetridge in Weldon, Iowa. She grew up in rural Weldon and graduated from LeRoy High School. After graduating high school, Charlotte attended Simpson College and received her bachelor’s degree in education. She later went on to Drake University and received her master’s degree in education. Charlotte worked as the librarian at the Belmond High School for many years.

In 1962, Charlotte was united in marriage to Gerald Andrew of Indianola, IA. After his death in 1975, she later wed John Erickson of Mason City, IA, in 1982, who passed in 1997. Charlotte enjoyed playing bridge, P.E.O activities, reading, travelling and anything chocolate.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Dennis Andrew (Pamela) of Glendale, AZ, and daughter Kim Andrew of Carrollton, TX, Julie Berry (Don) of Mason City, IA, Mary Davenport (Rusty) of IA and Doug Erickson of PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris Barger of MI, and two husbands. Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South, Belmond, IA.
