Viola Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Nelson of Eagle Grove, was born July 10, 1909, in Wayne county, Ill., and passed away at the state hospital in Iowa City, Oct. 4, 1934, at 1 a.m., having reached the age of 25 years, 2 months and 24 days. Death followed a brief but serious illness for which, apparently, there was no relief.

While still a small girl, she moved with her parents to Iowa. She attended the Eagle Grove schools, going as far as the 11th grade. Following her education here she took up nurses training at Peoria, Ill., finishing her preparatory education as well. For the past year she had been residing at her parental home except at such time as when she was engaged in nursing. About eight years ago she accepted the Christian faith and was baptized and joined the Baptist church.

Beside her parents there are left to mourn her departing, three brothers: Clifford, John and Eddie; and five sisters, Margaret, Vesta Mae, Mary Lea, Mrs. Pauline Orr, all of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. E . J. Butterfield of Rockford, Ill. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ione Maxine. Her many friends mourn her untimely passing.
