Ilo W. Schutt, 95, of Woolstock, IA died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Bill Van Nostrand officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ilo Warren Schutt, son of Christian and Emma (Loux) Schutt was born December 15, 1920 on the family farm in Woolstock, Township, Wright County, IA. He was the 6th of 10 children. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the French Church and was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Woolstock. He lived his entire life in the Woolstock community. He received his education in Woolstock graduating in 1938. He entered the Navy serving in WWII from June 1943 to October 1946. He served in the European and Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged.

On January 18, 1944 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Etter in Lake City, IA. He was a farmer for many years and later had his own trucking and gravel business. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball and was known for his wood working and frames. He enjoyed his family and loved to "visit" with people.

He went to his heavenly home on October 24, 2016 at the age of 95. Those waiting to welcome him are his parents; wife, Marilyn; brothers, Herbert, Charles, George, Celestin "Buster" and Martin; sisters, Emma "Sis" Potter and Hazel Brock. Grateful for having shared his life and to carry on his memory are his daughter, Marlo (Michael A.) Bogh of Huron, SD; grandsons, Dean (Peggy) Taylor and children, Gage, Matison and Lauden, Marc (Angie) Taylor and children Spencer and Jacoby, Alex Taylor and children, Kayla, Tanir and Parker of Pierre, SD and Sean (Stephanie) Taylor and children, Kenzington and Isabella; step-grandson, Michael L (Jennifer) Bogh and children, Allen, Jayden and Monte of Huron, SD; brothers, Deslyn Schutt and Eldred Schutt of Clarion, IA; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Raymond Schutt and friend Karen Gaunt and special niece, Charlene (Bill) Johannsen.

Thank you to everyone who helped Dad during the past 3 years. Without you he would not have been able to live in his home for so long.
