CORA S. STEARNS
Cora S. Johnson was born April 2, 1910, at Bowman, N. D. Her mother died when she was three days old, and she lived with her mother's family in Toranto, S. D. until the age of 13 when she moved to Bode, where she lived with her father, Andrew Johnson, and his family. She graduated from Bode High School in 1927. She married Rollo A. Stearns in 1932 in Canton, S.D., and they lived in Rutland until 1948, when they moved to Eagle Grove.

Cora S. Stearns, 85, died October 14, 1995, at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital. Survivors include daughters, Gwendolyn Johnson, Eagle Grove, and Geline Wieser, Stafford, Ariz.; sons, Gregg and Gary Stearns, both of Eagle Grove; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a half sister, Lulu Tendall, California. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 29, 1995; her parents, a son, Gale Rollo; a half-brother and a step-brother. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 1995, at the Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, with the Reverend Maynard J. Moen officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Ltd., of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
