Renwick Couple Overcome by Gas

Wm. Fisher, a resident of Renwick for the past 30 years, died Tuesday evening as a result of monoxide gas poisoning. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher were found unconscious in their bed Tuesday night about 6 o'clock when a neighbor, Mrs. Mary Calleson, called at the house. She found the doors locked and the house in darkness, and was unable to rouse Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, so immediately notified their son, Jess, who lives in the country. A physician was called and it was found that Mr. and Mrs. Fisher were both suffering from monoxide gas from a hard coal heater. Mrs. Fisher revived soon after fresh air was obtained in the house, but Mr. Fisher remained unconscious and died soon after the doctor arrived. Mr. Fisher, who was about 73 years of age, was a drayman in Renwick for about 25 years. He is survived by his wife and two children, Jess of Renwick and Mrs. Verle Moorhead of Sioux City. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at this writing.
