Chas. Toillion Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Charles Toillion Sr., 83, were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church, in charge of the pastor, Rev J. L. Byrne. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Toillion died Friday at the hospital in Cherokee, where he had been a patient for 9 days. Mr. Toillion is survived by four children, three sons, Jack, Charles and Harland Toillion of this city, and one daughter, Mrs. Albert Merriam of LuVerne. The deceased was born January 13, 1859, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and when a young man moved to Mendota, Ill. In 1888 he was married to Margaret P. Berscheid at Sublette, Ill., and they moved to North Platte, Neb., to make their home. They lived there for throe years and then moved to LuVerne, Iowa, and in 1903 came to Eagle Grove. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Toillion, one son, Clarence, died in 1918, and Mrs. Toillion died many years ago. Besides the four children, Mr. Toillion is survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and one brother, Xavier Toillion of Sterling, Colo.

Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Julius Poss and son, Richard of Ashton; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Toillion of Altoona; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Johnson and Ernest Applegate, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Widen, Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Lawlier and James Williams and Chas. Bosworth of Corwith; Geo. J. Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Doughton of Wanawha, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Williger of Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hirner and Mrs. Simon Hirner of Wesley; and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Merriam and family of LuVerne.
