Lola Westmeyer, age 73, of Janesville, died May 14, 2008 at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Lola was born on December 15, 1934 in Clarion, Iowa the daughter of Ivan and Irene (Smith) Strom. They moved to Waverly and Lola attended the Waverly High School. After finishing school she went to work for the A&W root beer stand. On December 28, 1952 Lola was united in marriage to Don Westmeyer at the Episcopal Church in Waverly. Lola spent her life as a caring mother and doing the bookkeeping for the River View Mobile Home Park in Janesville. Lola's enjoyments included camping, boating, country music, roller skating in her younger years, trains, watching hot air balloons, and most of all spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Lola's memory is honored by her husband, Don Westmeyer of Janesville, two sons, Jeff Westmeyer of Janesville and Steve (Pat) Westmeyer of Shell Rock, a daughter, Candy Hart of Cedar Falls, eight grandchildren, Broc, Wes, Mic, Jenae, Laura, Amanda, Tracey, and JR, four great grandchildren, Carly, Belle, Seth, and Maddie, and a brother, Donald Strom of Shell Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Mildred Woods, Katheryn Doherty, Carol Cmelik, and Ellen Schaefer, and three brothers, Roger, Bob, and Duane Strom.

Lola has been cremated and memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 16 at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Reverend Maureen Doherty officiating. A memorial has been established in her name and may be directed to the family.
