Jenovie Lee Bailey, 83, passed away on October 2, 2016 at Florida Hospital, DeLand, FL. Born January 11, 1933 in Corunna, Indiana to Harry and Velma Ships. Jenovie is survived by her husband of 61 years Richard, son Douglas A., Daughter Julia M. Gibson, granddaughter Madison Taylor Smith, Great granddaughter Rayne Marie Smith, Great grandson Cash Taylor Rae Smith all from DeLand, FL and many, many nieces and nephews.

Jenovie graduated from International College, Fort Wayne, Indiana with a degree in Accounting. Prior to attending college she worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. Following these services she married Richard in 1955 and both followed their chosen careers. This look them to Fort Wayne, IN, St. Louis, MO, Delphos, Ohio, Indianapolis, IN and Eagle Grove, IA. Their last move brought them to DeLand, FL, where they presently reside.

Jenovie (Jenny) was the 4th of 11 children living and working the family farm in northern Indiana, surviving are Crystal, Merritt, Berdenia, Barbara, Echo, Gloria and Billie. Preceding her in death are Cleo, Clytie and Donald. She is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, DeLand, FL and mass of christian funeral will be at 10:00am on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Visitation with prayer service will be from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 East New York Avenue, DeLand, FL. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: St. Peter Catholic Church building fund or Florida Hospital HospiceCare.
