Paul M. Barmore passed away on the evening of Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born July 21, 1951 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Clinton R. Barmore and Hazel K. (Thompson) Barmore. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1969 and proceeded to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1973. Paul married the love of his life Dale J. Stiles on June 7, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa. Together, they explored different regions of the United States and in 1987 they made their home in Rockton, Illinois where they raised their three children.

Paul was a kind and generous man who put others before himself and took pride in supporting his family and community. He was an active member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Roscoe, IL. Paul enjoyed golf and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. He built his career over 38 years with Hormel Foods where he held various positions and retired in 2012 as a Plant Supervisor. Paul’s sense of humor could brighten any situation and his one-liners will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Dale; daughter Laurel (Sam) Schmitz; sons Tom (Mikael) Barmore and Dan (Danielle) Barmore; grandchildren Bram Schmitz, Tanner and Emily Blake Barmore; sisters Marie (Frank) Wiegert and Lois (Mikael) Kagan; brother Steven (Wendy) Barmore and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5506 Reimer Drive Roscoe, IL with Pastor-Sole Dr. John Spangler, Sr. officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, IL. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to those who have supported them through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
