James A. Loftis the son of William and Margaret (Anderson) Loftis was born June 28, 1942 in Estherville, Iowa. He died on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 73. He received his education and graduated from Clarion High School. Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. On July 17, 1966 he was united in marriage to Dianne Holloway. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville and raised their family. For hobbies, Jim enjoyed fishing, Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Jim's memory are his wife, Dianne; children, Pat Loftis and his wife, Lisa; Kim Phillips and her husband, Steve all of Estherville; Laura Boatwright and her husband, Eric of Bondurant, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Jacob, Kileigh, Casey, Nick, Kristin, Kristi and Cory; and four great grandchildren; twin-sister, Jean Peta and her husband, Cliff of Estherville; sister, Edna Payne of Red Oak, Iowa; step-sister, Wanda Farnes and many nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death by his parents, William, Margaret and Caroline and son, Travis.
