Funeral Services for Allen Lee Vinsand, 74, of Pocahontas will be Saturday August 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Badger Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery Vincent, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday 4pm to 7pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services. Allen died at his home in Pocahontas on July 26, 2016.

Allen Lee Vinsand was born April 1, 1942 in Badger, Iowa to Charles and Mildred (Rathke) Vinsand. He attended Badger Elementary and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He was united in marriage to Brenda Lou Cornman on November 18, 1963. To this union 5 children were born, Mark, Lisa, Wayne, Patrick and April. The family resided in Fort Dodge, Badger and finally settling in Pocahontas. Allen married Donna Messerly on June 2, 1990. Allen worked for New Idea, then Pester Derby Station and finally for E.R. Buske Manufacturing in Pocahontas for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, collecting coins and collecting eagles. His life long hobby was fixing and collecting cars. He was a huge Elvis and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Allen is survived by his children; Mark (Susan) Vinsand, Lisa (James) Clark, Wayne (Pamela) Vinsand and April Beck and her fiance Michael Wyss, 13 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren, stepchildren; Todd Messerly, Tonia (Dave) Askelson, Terry (Jana) Messerly, Tracy (Kevin) Parks, and Tim (Jamie) Messerly and 7 step grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Donald Vinsand, Janet (Duane) Knudson, Carol (David) Gibson, James (Carla) Vinsand, Roger (Regina) Vinsand, Thomas Vinsand, Kenneth Vinsand, Carla (Jerry) Hansen, Patti Henderson and Sheila (Jack) Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mildred, wife Donna, son Patrick and brother Terry. Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge was entrusted with arrangements.
