Lawrence Stockdale funeral Saturday

Funeral services for Lawrence Stockdale, 71, were held Saturday afternoon at the Samuel Lutheran Church with the pastor Rev. Orville Sanders in charge. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery at Holmes. Mr. Stockdale is survived by his wife, one son David, his mother, Mrs. Anna Stockdale, 99, a patient at the Care Center in Humboldt, and one sister, Mrs. Ralph Edwards of Rochester, Minn. Mr. Stockdale died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 9, at Trinity Hospital, Fort Dodge, where he had been a surgical patient for 51 days. He was a long time employee of the Chicago and North Western R.R. and completed 50 years of service. He retired as conductor after being injured in a train-automobile accident in 196$. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen of which he was past president and local chairman. He also held an appointed office of member of the Eagle Grove Memorial Hall board of directors.

Coming from a distance to attend the funeral of Lawrence Stockdale Saturday morning were Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Edwards and Kathryn Larson, Rochester, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Larick, West Union, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Quam, Northfield, Minn; Mrs. Leonard Zrostlik, Forest City; Dr. Mildred Ballou, Muncie, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Levi Dyverson, Estherville.
