Lucille, daughter of Ardo and Frances (Severson) Anderson, was born December 11, 1931 near Scobey, Montana. On June 3, 1951, Lucille was united in marriage to Gordon Osby at the Kanawha Lutheran Church. Lucille was a lifelong member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church and was active in the KLCW, the Eve Circle, the sewing group, choirs, and teaching. Gordon and Lucille made their home and raised their family in their little corner of Kanawha.
Lucille loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being outside gardening, music, sewing, and following sports. She was a strong, adventurous, wonderful woman. Lucille was committed to her faith. She was a quiet but strong example in her marriage and loved her family and her friends dearly. She will be missed.
Lucille is survived by her three children: Gary Osby and his wife Terry of Atlantic, Iowa, Cheryl Rietema and her husband Dennis of Hanford, California, and James Osby and his wife Lisa of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Marc (Kelly) Rietema, Joel (Abby) Rietema, Kristy (Aaron) Searles, Kyle (Liz) Rietema, Collin Osby, Christian Osby, and Natalie Carrion; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dean (Daphne) Anderson of Huxley, Iowa, and Larry (Darlene) Anderson of Kanawha, Iowa; sister Barb (Bob) Hegg of Windsor, Colorado; and sister-in-law Sharon Anderson of Kanawha, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 2005, her parents Ardo and Frances, and her brother Arlie Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the KLCW sewing group for mission outreach.
