Dagny Albine Nissen was born March 20, 1906, the daughter of Peter B. and Maren Pederson Nissen, at Boelus, Neb. She attended school in Dannebrog, and Nysted, Neb. Dagny went on from there to the Dana College Academy. She was united in marriage to Otto Knudsen of Dannebrog, Neb., on May 12, 1925. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1935. Otto began the Knudsen Realty in Eagle Grove.

She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, was past president of PEO, member of the Rotary Ann Auxiliary, a member of the bridge club, Ladies Aid, and Legion Auxiliary.

Dagny Knudsen died March 18, 1989, at the age of 82 years, at her home of an apparent heart attack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Arnold, Fred, and Knud; and one infant sister. She is survived by four sons, Donald, Eagle Grove; Rodney and Jerry of Humboldt; and Roger, Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Eireen) Notestine, Okoboji; and Mrs. Michael (Kaaren) Nelson of Bettendorf; 18 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 20 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Paul Schaedig officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
