March 8, 1857 --- February 10, 1926

Mrs. Oliva Kirketeg, the daughter of Ole and Johanna Ostrem was born on March 8, 1857, at Skjold, Norway. She came to Sheldahl, Iowa, at about 1880, and the following year went to Des Moines, where on Dec 23, 1887, she was married to Knut K. Kirketeg, who passed away on August 24, 1925. She passed away quietly while sleeping, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie O. Evenson, at Marshalltown, Iowa, on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19, 1926, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 2 days. She was a staunch Christian and a member of the Samuel Lutheran church.

She is survived by one son, Ole J. Kirketeg of Bedford, Iowa, and three daughters, Anna C. Kirketeg of Sioux Falls, S D., Agnetha D. Kirketeg, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Jennie O. Evenson and her husband, Orville L. Evenson, and their two children, Richard K. and Margaret Oleen. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Rachel Ersland of Skjold, Norway, and four brothers, Jacob Ostrem and Johannes Ostrem, both of Skjold, Norway, Hans Ostrem, of Galata, Mont., and Mons Ostrem of Cambridge, Iowa.
