MRS. CALVERT CRAN

Frances Cran died July 30 at Dell Rapids hospital, South Dakota. She is survived by her husband, two sisters. Fern LeBrun, Dell Rapids and Fay Brunette, Pomona, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. Frances May Richardson was born Sept. 29, 1905 at Dell Rapids, S.D. She married Cal Cran of Humboldt on Sept. 6, 1925. They made their home in Eagle Grove until 1935, living with and caring for her aunt, Mrs. Frank (Effie) McCabe. They moved to a farm near Clear Lake, S.D. and later operated a hotel at Clear Lake. Until the time of their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Cran lived in various state parks in South Dakota where Cran was employed as parks superintendent. Mrs. Cran was a member of the Dell Rapids United Methodist Church, Dell Rapids, where funeral services were held, and of the Ruth Chapter of Eastern Star, Clear Lake, S.D. Eastern Star members conducted services at the graveside at Dell Rapids Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Cran returned many times to visit friends and classmates in the Eagle Grove area.
