Mrs. Tillie Pletcher, the daughter of Ole and Bertha Nelson Knutson, was born on April 6, 1903, on a farm in Lincoln County, S.D. She grew up and received her education in the Vilas, S.D. area. Later, she moved with her family to Hawarden, Iowa. On July 5, 1946, she united in marriage with Carroll Pletcher at Canton, S.D. The couple lived in Hawarden for three years and then moved to Eagle Grove, where Mr. Pletcher was an engineer for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for many years. He died on April 24,1971. For the past several years, Tillie had been in poor health. She lived with her sister for the past two years and her sister cared for her. Mrs. Pletcher died on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 25,1982 at the home of her sister in Eagle Grove. She attained the age of 79 years, 4 months and 19 days.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lillian O'Hair of Eagle Grove; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tillie Pletcher were held on Saturday, Aug. 28, 1982 at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth R. Reiter officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Friday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
