Mrs. Geo. Z. Lyman of Chadron, Neb., died Friday evening at that place in the home of her son and was brought here for burial Monday evening. Mrs. Lyman was a former resident of this city but moved from here about thirteen years ago to Chadron, Neb., to make her home with a son. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of Mrs. John Beal. The services were in charge of Rev. Richard S. Haney. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Messrs R. A. Baker, L. G. Focht, L. W. Worthington and C. H. Duer sang several numbers during the services.
Nancy A. Broeffle was born in Sidney, New York Oct. 25, 1838. On Oct. 25, 1859, she was united in marriage to George Z. Lyman. Five children were born to this union, three boys and two girls, Peter H. Lyman of Bradford, Ill.; Mrs. M. W. Case of Chadron, Neb.; Mrs. A. T. Briggs of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Dawson W. Lyman of Chadron, Neb.; Lester Z. Lyman, who died thirteen years ago.
For the past twenty-eight years Mrs. Lyman has been confined to a wheel chair and since the death of her husband has made her home with her son, Dawson, at Chadron, Neb. Mrs. Lyman is survived by the four children, one sister, Mrs. D. F. Sheffield of Clarion, and one brother, Lester Broeffle of Galt, Iowa.
Out of town relatives here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Case of Chadron, Neb.; Dawson Lyman of Chadron, Neb.; Mrs. A. T. Briggs of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Mrs. D. F. Sheffield of Clarion, Iowa, and Lester L. Broeffle of Galt, Iowa.
